Step 4: Add NZB Files
To access articles through NZBGet, you'll need NZB files. These files act as a guide to the articles stored on Usenet. You can create your own NZB files by using UsenetServer's Global Search 2.0.
NZB files can be added directly in several ways:
Local Files
If you have downloaded an NZB file directly to your device, you can select the file path and add it to NZBGet manually.
-
Click on the +Add button.
-
Click on Select Files
-
Navigate to the folder where the NZB file resides and select it.
-
Click Submit. The process will begin automatically.
From a URL
If you have a URL for an NZB file, you can add that URL and NZBGet will place it in the queue.
-
Click on the +Add button.
-
Click into the Add from URL field.
-
Enter the URL of the NZB file.
-
Click Submit. NZBGet will begin processing.
From an NZB Directory
If you have an automated process that places NZB files in a specific folder, you can configure NZBGet to monitor that folder and automatically add any new NZB it detects.
-
Click on the +Add button.
-
Click the Scan incoming directory button next to Add from NzbDir.
-
NZBGet will scan the designated folder and queue any new NZB files.
Setting Up the NZB Watch Directory
To use the method above, you first need to configure the NzbDir
setting:
-
Click on the Settings tab on the far right of the top menu.
-
Select Paths from the left-hand menu.
-
In the NzbDir section, define your desired watch folder.
-
Click Save all changes.
Merging NZB Files
If an article is split across multiple NZB files, NZBGet allows you to merge them for more efficient processing.
-
Click the check boxes next to the queued NZB files you want to merge. Click Merge.
-
Click the Merge button in the button right of the popup box.
-
NZBGet will treat the merged result as a single task in the queue
This can help streamline access and improve performance.
Step 5: Begin Accessing Usenet Articles
After adding your NZB files, NZBGet will begin retrieving the specified articles. You can view progress and history in the Download Queue and History tabs.
